GrEAy is the short film I am writing and directing for my thesis project to graduate with my Master’s Degree of Fine Arts in May. The film follows Stevie through one of his first days living in the Bay Area. It has always been his dream to live in the Bay Area, but it’s also a complete change from his previous life in the South. During this day he finds himself in locations he’s only dreamed of, though some of his experiences don’t play out how he envisioned. The film touches upon issues of sexuality, housing in the Bay Area, and police brutality.
With this film I hope to jump start my career in the film industry. However, the film isn’t finished yet, but this is where you can help! On January 23rd I will be starting a crowdfunding campaign to help secure funds needed to complete the film (music, paying actors, film festival fees, equipment rental, etc.). Even if you can’t donate, you can still help by sharing the campaign on your social media accounts and liking/following GrEAy’s social media accounts on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Sharing and following will help to increase the number of people who see the campaign and greatly helps with funding.
In the future I plan to send newsletters to update you on the progress of the film along with surpassed milestones. I want to thank you for being a friend and having an unforgettable effect on me at some point in my life.
Respectfully,
Shane Watson
